Hi there.
I’m Ethan Marcotte, an independent web designer.
It’s nice to meet you.
I started that whole responsive design thing.
I coined the term “responsive web design” a few years back. Honestly, I’m still floored by the reception the idea’s gotten. Fast Company named me one of the Most Creative People in Business—in business!—in 2012. Mashable declared 2013 to be the year of responsive design.
After the original article, I wrote a little book about responsive design. More recently, I wrote a book about responsive design patterns. (If you’ve read either: thank you so much.)
I’ve also got a blog—remember those?—where I occasionally write about responsive design, the web, and everything else under the sun.
Let’s work together.
As you might imagine, I love designing and building sites that work everywhere—and I’ve done it for the likes of People Magazine, The Sundance Film Festival, The Boston Globe, the School of Visual Arts, and many more. What’s more, I’ve spoken at conferences across the world, including Adobe MAX, An Event Apart, and Webstock.
If you think I’d be a good fit for your next web project, or that I’d make a nice addition to your conference lineup, drop me a line. I’d love to hear from you.
